State of the Mun - I'm in a year-long university program right now that is going to be kicking up a notch in a few weeks, so I'm going to keep from joining Fear Plot or any other commitments like that.  I'm not going anywhere, of course, and will always be available for emails/private threads and whatnot.

Carwood Lipton - Oh, Lipton.  Still need to work on the whole meeting-new-people thing that I've become so bad at with him.  He's just so goddamn reliable in my head, that I feel like he's keeping busy and going on with his life while I deal with other pups.

Manda posted in her SOTP about what I have been calling in my head baby!plot, so I'll spill the beans here, too: after realizing how tragic it is that the epic manly lovefest that is Steve and Danny is baby-less, Jane will suggest to McGarrett that she becomes a surrogate.  Lipton, who is from the 1940s, will naturally find the idea of his wife carrying another man's baby appalling.  Anything of Jane's he wants a part of, like his relationship with Lydia, so he will be extremely uncomfortable with the idea of blonde children running around the Island that he has nothing to do with.  Jane and Lipton have never had a big fight, so this is going to be a really interesting plot to follow through with.  They'll work it out, of course, because ultimately Lipton will do anything for the ones he loves, but it won't be smooth sailing, and that's exciting for such good-natured pups as Jane and Lip

Betty Rizzo - She had a paperback intervention in January, and while it wasn't particularly well-received, she made a really distinct effort afterwords to try and cut down on the booze.  She quickly realized that with the withdrawal, it's going to be a lot longer and harder of a process than she could have ever thought, and that intimidates and terrifies her.  Valentine's Day, recovering from Hangover Plot, and Mardi Gras have served to somewhat derailed her efforts to cut back, but she'll try again in March to take a few steps closer to sobriety.

She's going to get an EP in early march with her NDPD, a broken-down T-Bird for her to fix up.  She needs a project now more than ever, and while she's been looking the thing over thus far, she's really going to hunker down with some tools and some books to make it all shiny - and maybe come up with a name for it as cool as "Greased Lightning."

The Artful Dodger - Dodger is helping out Helen Magnus with the smaller animals at the Vet's Office, getting some literacy help and working over his fear of dogs along the way.  While he learned the alphabet and how to write his name from Dodge, Danny is teaching Dodger how to read, since he's determined to finish Dodge's copy of Lord of the Flies.  I'm really pleased with where Dodger's at right now - he's got a support system, and is pretty content with his life.

I want to tag him more with the other children next month, because that's still where he's most comfortable and I miss the dynamic he has with other kids (I'm looking at you, Karen!).

Carwood Lipton - He had a quiet month, but he's really focused on the new baby still, first and foremost. I'm going to try to get him out and about more in January, starting new friendships and maintaining old ones a bit better.
NDPD - A set of power tools to further develop his woodworking hobby and his ability to work on the Boarding House.

Betty Rizzo - Rizzo is one of those people who found a very specific way of facing life's challenges. On the Island, she went from relying only on herself to realizing in Paul the sort of family and confidant that she's always been missing, and now that he's gone, she can't cope as well the way she did before. She went through a particularly scandalous phase of one-night-stands, but now she's mellowed into a functioning alcoholic. I've thought a lot about how to get her on more of an even keel, but the most realistic character development is on a long-term basis rather than a quick fix. In the new year, the bookcase will inundate her with books about alcoholism, and her NDPD gift will give her a slow-moving project to focus on. I'm still unsure about how she will progress from there, but ultimately I think she can come back from it.
NDPD - A broken down hotrod.

The Artful Dodger - I've had a great time with him this month, because he wanted to tag into everything. I also used the December Plot shamelessly as a source of plot for Dodger in relation to coming to terms with his place on the Island. I want to work on getting him closer with some of the children on the Island, given that they're who he feels most comfortable with. Dodge disappeared recently, and that will be a blow to Dodger, since he was the only adult on the island that didn't treat him as a child, and who understood the criminal life. Danny is steadily becoming the father figure that Dodger's always needed, but he's been so harshly treated by men in the past that he's going to still be somewhat wary for a good long while.
NDPD - Gin and a pipe. Stay tuned for a gleefully drunken twelve year old.
